Electroconvulsive therapy or electroshock, is a psychiatric treatment that has been used for over 75 years. It is used by hooking electrodes to the subject's body, and turning up the frequency (Sounds fun, right?). This causes a seizure and is extremely painful, which is obviously traumatizing and leaves many in a confused state of mind. In a 'normal' setting, the psychiatrists think this cures severe depression and mania..
Electroshock is also one of the base techniques used in MK-Ultra or Monarch Programming. When used, it creates such pain and trauma that the subject dissociates, causing the mind to fracture and split into another personality or alter. Which then in turn allows the programmers to build on that alter, creating the mind-controlled slave that was planned. After programming is finished, the subject can then be triggered into any alter that is needed at any given time.
